LOOKING FOR CONTRIBUTORS!
Voidea Games, and more importantly, the 2.5 year in development project, Nighttime Runners, is needing Contributors to finish development. We're an indie studio using a deferred payback system. Everyone will log approved work (per asset or hourly), including Voidea Games LLC, which will be kept track of in a Owed Contributor visible sheet, and if the game generates revenue, you get paid based on what you're owed. Why deferred payment? We’re a fully independent two-person team with no external funding. We make nothing, until after you get paid back. We believe in transparency, and all contributors will be paid at the same time, at the same intervals. This isn’t an employment offer, but it is a formal, contract-backed agreement that guarantees payment for approved work if the game earns revenue. This will be backed by a signed contract between the Contributor and Voidea Games LLC.
Paid once the game earns revenue, over costs to operate
Revenue covers expenses first, then 80% goes to the Owed Contributors
20% is reserved to cover floating expenses and new business costs
First $1K owed per Contributor is prioritized
Remaining funds are paid out proportionally each month
Complete transparency to Owed Contributors of ongoing costs
Everyone is paid the same rate by role, and it's all tracked transparently in a shared sheet available to Owed Contributors.
Fill out the following form to apply. This is not a job application. You're applying to be able to contribute to the game. We're asking for a few pieces of information, as well as portfolio work. Please have at least 1 year of experience in your area of expertise. Thank you.
We have completed the majority of major features, and the game is in a playable state. We have run play tests before, over a year ago, and are looking to start again since our switch to dedicated servers. We're using placeholder art to convey atmosphere that ties into gameplay. You're jumping in at the point where we'll start to build a community, witness our first marketing push, and see the polish applied.
This depends on the amount of Contributors we can get. The more we have, the faster things can get done. Our bottleneck would be programming regardless, and we foresee about 3 months of work left there.
This button links to a publicly available Trello board, tracking what we have left before we can release the game in Early Access.

The following rates are what we're proposing each Contributor makes per contribution. Final rates will be signed and available to viewed either in the Owed Contributor work tracker, or referenceable in the Contributor contract. Our utmost goal is to be as fair and transparent with any and all Contributors. If these numbers seem off, we will discuss proper rates, as a group of Contributors and come to an agreement. We are looking to match standard indie level rates. Hourly work may be capped weekly, depending on work available/needed. Rates are in $USD.
